“We see, hear and learn from Baltimore. Can you feel the change coming? Always in pursuit of a better Baltimore. I am a Woman of Valor, a leader, negotiator, role model and fire starter. I am a Baltimore City GUARDIAN!”
Sister Yeshiyah Israel’s personal inspiration was to invest her time, talent and leadership to the Pimlico Merchants Association (PMA) Business District and community. As she matured and developed into womanhood she was always surrounded by positive influential people in her life. Her best opportunity was working for an Ambassador Prince Asiel for over 7 years.
Her most successful project was the award of $100,000 from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Community Safety Works-Business District Improvement Grant in the Pimlico Business corridor and the 50th Annual Mayor's Business Recognition Awards 2024 where PMA won vibrant and substantiable communities.
Her current project is Pimlico Market Cafe, LLC in collaboration with Neighborhood Design Center. This project will support the opening of a new market in a healthy food priority area in Baltimore City. By stocking fresh produce and staples, the market increases access to healthy, affordable food. It also creates employment opportunities for neighborhood residents and will provide workshops, cooking demonstrations, and other programs.
